Bathroom cleaning tips
Bathroom tiles can be of various types and sizes. Not all cleaning methods are applicable for all types of flooring. However, there are a number of bathroom cleaning hacks that can be applicable for any kind of flooring. For that reason, we will go one by one on the various types of tiles and how you can effectively clean them. Let’s start.
1. Shower area
Who doesn’t like a shiny, spotless shower area? To keep this area clean, all you have to do is to make use of some white vinegar! You can heat up the white vinegar in the microwave and then spray it on the tiles while still hot. By the way, if the vinegar smell bothers you too much, you can add in a few drops of your favourite dish soap. In addition to neutralizing the smell, the soap can also cut through tough grime easily.
However, if your shower tiles are made of natural stone, then we recommend using a pH neutral tile cleaner. You can also use hot water and then wipe off with a microfiber cloth, Also Read:- expert bond cleaning.
2. Molds and mildew
No matter how hard you will try, sooner or later you might have to encounter some pesky mildew or surface mold in your bathroom especially if you live in a hot and humid climate. Combine six cups of warm water with a quarter cup of bleach. Now spread this solution on the affected areas and then scrub down the area.
For stubborn mold and mildew stains, you will need something more potent than a bleach solution. You can apply a paste of baking soda and water in the affected area and let it sit for a few hours. Then, rinse thoroughly with water.
3. 3)Take help of a dental floss
There are certain nooks and crannies of the sink where the average cleaning tools cannot reach at all. In those cases, a dental floss would easily reach the not-so-reachable areas and reveal a squeaky-clean sink. These are the perfect tools to get rid of buildup in the faucets and handles.
4. 4) Water spots
In places where there is a constant flow of running water like sinks and showers, water spots are a common occurrence. However, did you know that these spots are surprisingly easy to clean? Simply rub lemon on your stained chrome fixtures and those annoying spots will disappear like magic! Moreover, the citrusy smell of the lemon is enough to mask any unpleasant smells.
5. 5) Need a toilet deep clean? Use a screwdriver
Yes, you heard right! Your toilet is one of the dirtiest in the house yet one of the hardest to clean. You can solve this problem easily by opening your toolbox. Get a screwdriver and cover it’s end with a disinfectant wipe. Then you can reach the nooks and crannies easily and a spot-free toilet is no more a dream.
6. 6) Clean your bathtub effectively
Now of course you can scrub your entire bathtub with a sponge but it’s no doubt a hassle and a very physical one at that! What you can do instead is to cover the bathtub in soap, then sweep and scrub with a clean broom. Make sure to get all the corners. Now simply rinse it off with water. Sounds easier right? You will get the same cleaning as you would with the sponge except the handle of the broom would be longer and you would need lesser effort.
7. 7) Clean grouts effectively
No matter how pretty or spotless your flooring is, if the grouts are stained or dirty, it will affect the whole look of your bathroom. Then, how to restore the colour of the tiles and the space between the tiles? Simply make a paste of 3/4th cup baking soda and 1/4th cup bleach to the grout and then leave it on for 30 minutes. Now, scrub with a soft sponge or cloth to reveal the clean tiles.
8. 8) Clean marble areas with bleach
There can be multiple marble areas in the bathroom- floors, sink backsplash etc. If these areas are stained, bleach is an effective option to clean and disinfect. Place a paper towel soaked with bleach on the affected area and cover it with a cup. Leave this on overnight. By morning, your blemish should be gone. One pro-tip- Always make sure to test the bleach on an inconspicuous area of the marble to see if the bleach is causing any damage.
